                         The Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is the oldest documented tree in the world, believed to be a cutting from the original Bodhi tree under which Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment. Planted in 288 BC, it stands as a sacred symbol of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. Visitors can participate in daily rituals and soak in the serene atmosphere of this revered site.

2. Ruwanwelisaya Stupa


Location: Ruwanwelisaya Stupa, Anuradhapura

Constructed by King Dutugemunu in the 2nd century BC, the Ruwanwelisaya is one of the most iconic stupas in Sri Lanka. Its massive white dome is surrounded by intricately carved stone elephants. 3. Lowamahapaya (Brazen Palace)
 
 

Lowamahapaya, or the Brazen Palace, was originally a grand nine-story building with a bronze-tiled roof, built by King Dutugemunu over 2,000 years ago. Once a residence for monks, only its stone pillars remain today, symbolizing the architectural brilliance and spiritual legacy of ancient Anuradhapura.

 

4. Thuparamaya Stupa

5. Jetavanaramaya Stupa

6. Abhayagiri Monastery

10. Isurumuniya Temple
